I'm not sure whether I like the shift in perspective in the main menu (volcano/mountain is sideview, grass+ temple are in top view), but the colors and the animations are so cool!
It's probably a temple on a mountain, so the perspective is correct.
It's looking awesome, animations are superb indeed! Are you going to make this game with flash by the way, or? The animations reminded me of Little Big Adventure somehow, but only style-wise... basically this looks ten times better than that old game's animations,
Cheers

good point phemox, but since the mountain in the background looks like a volcano to me, I think you should be able to view at least partly into the crater... since, if the temple's on a mountain, it would be above the other mountain... but this isn't up to me... it still looks awesome the way it is

Damocles, The model was made in 3dsmax and "vectorized" with the Swift 3d plugin. The animations are hand made, I never use mocap. Actually it wasn't so hard to make the animations look good, since they can be seen only from the side i didn't had to worry about making them look good from other angles , and also, since the model it's all black, some parts that doesn't deform well aren't noticeable. This is the 3d model of the samurai. and look how bad it looks from another angle and with another color, the geometry errors are much more noticeable and the hand isn't even holding the sword
