I like your games a lot and would like to encourage you to stick with your style (your games have a special atmosphere...). I'm looking foreward for the upcoming shooter (although this is not my genre).

Concerning the X-Wing...make sure it differs slightly from the original and rename it to "Chicks-Wing" or anything

it is the same with freeware, all though lots of companies dont go after freeware game devs for copyright infringement, they very well could.

A last notyfier to the copyright-problem:
what's about websites like
STMC or turbosquid and the many other sites? That should be also illegal?I can't believe that, but if it should be so,I think,I get no fun anymore to create games or screensaver and finish my hobby!

If you got a commercial site selling stuff and there is a section offering freeware this freeware is used for commercial purpose, too, even if it is for free.

Reason?
You use the freeware to get customers to your site which makes the freeware a commercial part of your site.

But I doubt anyone would cry about it.
I even made a application to Squaresoft once, showing my site as example and I got this "Chocobo World" remake there and nobody lost a word about it.

On the other Hand for my (free) browser game "Schlacht um Kyoto" I once recieved a mail asking about the sources/ origins of my images and if self made that I have to own the necessary software licences (of course this was no specific thread since there is nothing "stolen" and thus any answer would be worse than no answer, but there are people earning their money finding people stealing stuff of others).

But even for my game "Starbattle" which uses dozens of images from Namco VS Capcom and Halo Zero nobody cares a f***.

If you just provide freeware downloads on your site nobody cares as long as it does not get too big.

My project Schlacht um Kyoto - Das Samurai Browsergame! (sorry, german only)

Hi @all!
It tooks me along time,to create a new starship, but now the first part is done:the command-bridge.My orientation was a german film from the 70's called Raumpatrouille,Starship Orion. It's only a orientation,I build all models by myself with MED and I called the starship Centauri2.It should be a future-version of the Orion.I sended a mail to OrionSpace, the website of Raumpatrouille and the admin said,it is nice and he will place it to his site.
Here the link to a little demo:
Centauri2
And some shots:

Looks good, big improvement from the first one, although the floor texture is still not rite. In the 4th picture, it is most noticable that the floor textures are not allinged.

It often is illegal indeed.
