Please don´t blame me for the placeholder textures.

Together with Ventilators mesh.dll (hint: 10,- Euro)
this shader is able to display a lightmap with texture subsets and specular/normalmaps + 4 dynamic lights.

Colour + Normalmap Model:

Lightmap Model:

Final Result:

You can adjust the specular through the alphachannel of the normalmap.
This example has no specular maps applied.

Download:
http://www.vulkanware.de/stuff/shadownormalshader.zip

It´s an executable, but I´ve integrated the code and the level into the folder.
So even if you don´t have the mesh.dll, you can see how it will look like and how it works.

Thanks to Ventilator, Slin, HeelX and Father_Frank.

Now go and build some beautiful worlds!

1280x1024 (Fullscreen) = 43 FPS.
8 Skins + 1 Lightmap = 9 Textures/Model...???

The low fps could be related due to the big textures (512*512) - when you move away the fps will go up.
I think that´s because the mipmaps are displayed.

I get >200 to 130 fps - it depends on the posititon.
(amd 3400+ / 1024 Ram / geforce8600 / Vista)

Of course this is a heavy shader and every subset will render in its own pass.
It´s not optimized though.
With a good sene management and shader-LOD it should be usable.
We are currently running our own tests with bigger environments.
If you don´t like it, then don´t use it or make it better for us all.

thanks for posting this! i didn't use subsets with shaders before so it's very helpful.

my fps are between 50 and 100 (athlon2500+, gf6600). i think the shader maybe could be optimized somehow (for example by not using 3 passes - the model gets rendered three times with this shader)? it's quite heavy.

you have to start the exe since the mesh plugin is registered to it.

but i think this small model would also work with the demo version of the mesh plugin which you can download if you follow the link in my signature (make sure you download the a7 version later in the thread).

I like it but the framerate is bad. Nine textures/model are overkill.
