Hi there,
I was wondering, Ive been trying to set up a paypal transaction on a site I have made and this is also concerning my idea to sell any small games I make.... I know some people sell their plugins etc using paypal I was wondering if you could offer any advice....
Does the transaction you make on paypal always have to give the buyer your name and adress on their e mail transaction receipt?
I mean its not that good to publicise onese own adress if you are a home industry? Also, I have made a site for some people and they have published some things using pen names. So they dont want to give their real names.
I dont think its possible not to give this in paypal transactions, can anyone let me know if it is or any other alternatives?
I would be really greatful. If I ever get round to making a game, I dont particularly want my adress apearing to all who buy either if I sell it on my own site.... Thanks.

They need all your data. They even need a proof that your data are not wrong. They say this is to prevent money laundering.
But this proof is not needed if you only pay a few bucks. But if you transfer more than 1000 Euros they will ask you and restrict your account meanwhile.

I don't see a way around this. If you work from home, the buyer (and paypal) has to have some proof that you are real. In the US, we have Post Office (PO) boxes which you can rent. Not sure if paypal will take that as an address, but I don't see why not. That way, any mail goes to the PO and if anyone needs to find out where you live (not just curious, but needs like for legal reasons), then the Post Office can tie your PO box to you... but it has to be legal and I can't just walk up and say "Who own's that PO?". This is one way to get mail, generate and address, and stay anonymous. Don't know if there is an English equivalent but you might want to look in that direction.

You may already be familiar with such services, but if not, Plimus has been pretty good for us. I believe they even accept payment via PayPal.
