You may have corrupted system files so may need to reinstall things like DX, drivers etc or reformat to clear your system totally of viral harm.

Otherwise, its a bit of a mystery.
Some versions of System mechanic are heavily suseptible to viral contamination so I'd suggest you get free modern versions, there are a few about like Registry Easy, Advanced Windows Care PRO2 (both free) etc.
