Hiya.
I started 3d with trueSpace v2 waaaaay back when. It has always had the stigma of it's interface; you either loved it, or hated it. There was very few in the middle ground.
TS was an innovator to many different things. It had some pretty cool tools (and still does; I like a lot of how it's actual Sweep, Bevel, Lathe, etc. tools work). The biggest problem I think tS has is that Roman and the crew simply *refuse* to listen to what people want. People have been clamoring for an optional interface; where one could select 'text buttons' in stead of the default 'icon buttons'. People wanted to look under the Polygon Edit tools and see "Lathe | Bevel | Sweep | Twist" etc. since about version 3, IIRC. Now it's at version 7 and they *finally* have text choices available.
The biggest, for me, disappointment that has consistently kept me from upgrading past v4.2 is tS's abysmal way of handling animation. It's virtually impossible to animate well in tS. While v7 has made a LARGE leap up the animation ladder, they still have a VERY long way to go. So I wait and watch. Maybe tS8 will have the animation tools for 'actual' animation in a non-insanity-loosing way.
