Wasteland The Clan Wars

Wasteland is a Real-time Strategy Game in work that is set in a vast, desolate, deserted world with little hope for human kind.

You live in a generation that descended from survivors of an apocalyptic event that should never have happened in the 1960s.
There is little hope for human kind, but the people of this world have adapted to the harsh and challenging environment of the wastelands. They try to cope with the treats of this post-apocalyptic world.


The Clan wars:

The people build a simple but persistent society. The hubs, big cities in the wastelands, are the basis for a more or less civilized society. They grant security, being even more valuable than water, in this harsh world.

An unwritten peace agreement stabilized the situation between the Bandid Clans that terrorize the Wasteland and the big Hubs and their trading routes. But something must have an incentive to break this treaty.

The Episode begins with Tom Clancy, investigating an attack on one of the trading bases of Junction City, the night before...

I know that Fallout it's a great game, so no wonder that it's a source of inspiration.

I have some advices too:

The buildings are "too scrapy", so try to make something more common, or something less apocalyptic. I know that it's in a wasteland, but still ...
Change the speed of the game, because at this speed it's too fast.
Make the models different. Now they look almoust the same.

And Tom Clancy it's a very known name, don't know if you should use his name.

Hallo Damocles,

habe das Wasteland Demo(Strategie) gespielt, GRANDEOS. Ich würde gerne am Projekt teilnehmen.

Ich selbst beende in einem Monat die Grafik-Design Ausbildung und habe vor als Grafiker(Modelle, Leveldesign, Textur/Skins, Interface usw.) in der Sieleindustrie zu arbeiten. Allerdings werde ich erst in einem Monat frei(habe jetzt Prüfungen).

Soviel ich weiß arbeitest du alleine an deinen Projekten, ich würde dir gerne dabei helfen, denn das Spiel hat Potenzial. Man kann daraus kein schlechteres Spiel machen, wie sagen wir, der kommende Warhammer Dawn of War(das Video dazu im aktuellem Gamestar).

Meine Arbeiten könnte ich dir dann auch in einem Monat zeigen, ich arbeite bereits an so ne Art Digitalen-Mappe (Bewerbungsmappe). Da werden dann Modelle, Leveldesign, Renderbilder usw. sein.

Ich habe jetzt schon an die 100 Ideen wie man dein Spiel optisch(und nicht nur) verbessern könnte.

Also wie gesagt würde dir gerne dabei helfen, ich könnte diesen Monat Ideen sammeln, Scribls machen usw.

looks good to me, but i woudl not use all this models.
i would use some bloacks too.
i think it was a clever idea to call it wastelands, since everythign is so empty...
not even a bush or a saddam.. äh... tree... (sorry for that).

but good thing love it...

Thanks for the suggestions,

I am working on a "mouse over" display right now,
so that you can see what the buildings/updates/units are,
and how much ressources you need for them

And the progress of production will also be displayed.

After that I´ll work on the basebuilding, the fences
and remove some bug of the AI (sometimes the units
don´t react, and the scavanger stops collecting)

After that I´ll implement more units, look on the
website, and programm a strategic AI for the computer.

btw: does anyone know why the button - mouse_off funtion is not called,
when leaving a button?

lol, i was just gonna suggest this thing of progress and amount..
but hey, i just beated it, but it was tougher than it at first looks
so good job, and i have something really bugging me..
ALLWAYS and i mean allways, the stupid scavengers will walk in the walls and stop doing what they should, so i have to do alllll things manually (which made it tough i think ).

That is very cool. I need some more time to get into it, but so far it looks great. The only problem is that the pathfinding seems to get a little sloppy at points, but the gameplay itself is really very fun. Truly a great job done on this project, and I wish you the best of luck with the contest.
