Greetings every1.I think its time to post my project on showcase2.
Short description:
Short description.
You will be playing a private investigator named .....?! wich has been paid to find a missing kid in a small semi forgotten city(there will be a legend behind this).The kid has been kidnaped and the only edvidence found in the place where he dissapeard is a photo of him with his family made in a nearby small city called ....?!
The story will evolve,there will be another character wich will "help" the player through the game.

The finished project will include:
Dynamic camera change (static to chase)
Dynamic map
Cut-scene based story-telling
2 playble characters
1 Whole city to explore
Many types different enemys.
2 bosses
Weapons will vary from simple objects found in the level to handgun
This is all the info i can give now.Expect for new features to be included as development goes on.

Hi everyone,

The kID forums will be down a short time due to a Loco malfunction. I have seemed to lost mysql databases, , silly me.

Anyway, since we haven't posted here in a while, I thought I should give an update.

Fuxer has almost completed the updated demo level. After that, he is going to rework some of the models that have some flaws and add some new animations too.

I have the inventory pretty much functioning now and I have been getting into adding new sounds to the level.

When it's getting real close to the time for the 3DGS community Test Demo to be released Fuxer or I will post it here.

The area on his jackewt around his chest is too wide in attacks, or else its his arms not out far enough... other than that, looks really great!

Hi ToweIie,

Yeah, the main character model will be re-done shortly. It does look pretty bad when he is shooting the pistol. Thanks for the comments.

I think Fuxer should actually be adding bones in the shoulder area and the neck too, that way the player's arms should raise and lower depending on the height of the target when aiming the pistol. The player's head will also turn towards important objects that are close to the player. I am not sure if this will be implemented in the 3DGS demo, but it will for the actual game for sure.

light_mystic is in charge of sounds and is getting a lot of sounds to me, so the game is starting to sound spookier all the time.

I will also be posting a link to a song called "The Light" here very shortly done by our musician Daz, vocals and all.

Did you change the noise shader? I think it looks better now on TFT... or is that just my imagination?

Hi Firoball,

That is the standard Panel Noise in those screenshots instead of the Shader Noise. We are currently working on improving the Shader Noise. The player has the option for No Noise, Panel Noise, or Shader Noise.

We are still deciding what kind of shadows to use. Indoor areas will definately be using stencil shadows. Outdoor areas were not sure on yet, soft shadows, stencil shadows, or something else. I have set up soft shadows and stencil shadows already, although they are not shown in the above screenshots. I am leaning towards all stencil shadows, while Fuxer is thinking about non-stencil shadows for outside.

Heres a song that is close to complete. During the vinel record sound part of the song the game is in the intro splashscreen, there is screen noise like a TV set not on a station, the noise slowly fades out until it is gone when the song changes over to no-vinel sound, at which point the game goes to the Main Menu with 2 windows with light shining through them with no static on the screen. The process is illustrated in screenshots below.

Hi Frank,

DaZ is our musician and is the lead singer of the group eXus from the UK. They are actually a punk band which is probably more apparent on the closing credits song below.

eXus's debut album X will be out shortly and The kID will have some songs from the album in it. Some of the songs were written specifically for The kID, "The Light" being one of them, which will also be on eXus's debut album.
