Running Food - Playable Demo
Hello all! Some of you might remember our first demo, posted about a year ago. Well, we feel the game has improved quite a bit since then, so now it is time for another demo. Those of you who were at the DUSMania 7 have already seen this - all others enjoy the 4 playable levels! Readme is included, here is a screenshot: And here is the link: Playable Demo Have fun! Feedback is appreciated. :-) Gnometech

Thank you!
You are right, but I thought the pale and yellowish colors fit with the part of the puzzle cubes in the game's story: they have been lost during the childhood and the player leads them back to the narrator who tells stories from the time when he lost them.
From another side, I try to avoid the common candy-like look of family and child games.
--------------------- About the demo, again. There has been added a lot of features and levels in the game since we've made that demo, but, nevertheless, the demo still shows a lot of the feeling and gameplay of the game as whole.

Small update! More a joke than actually a new feature: It was a test: I used the bones of the protagonists with the separated hands and feet for a model with a mantle like clothing. Monster Monks! An mpg of about 3 mb.BTW. as already posted in Morbius: at Wednesday is the celebration of the Deutscher Entwicklerpreis and Gamesload Newcomer Award in Essen! And Running Food is one of the participants!

I prefer the cube with the mushroom sombrero and the hedgehog for a twist in the general opinion.
I used to have such puzzle cubes when I was a kid and the images on those cubes were exactly the style of your puzzle piece so I guess it is pretty good... like the graphic style anyway.
Like I told you before.. I really love this project for its poetic notion (referring to the background story).
Good luck for the award Rince

@ Nems: If you could use the model to modify it for your purposes let me know! Probably, it is way to lowpoly and not accurately animated for a realistic style. But, who knows. @ rincewind: That's great! Thank you very much! It always is a big motivation to hear that someone likes what you do! Thank you for your help, too! I'll keep you informed!

Thanks bupaje! I saw your flash animations some time ago in a blog, I liked them very much. Here are other shots of the monster monk: And the following is a pic of a game for kids with the game mechanic of Running Food. I showed already a similar level, but its collision blocks were still too complicating for absolutely safe collisions. This is a combination of the shadowmapped models with extremly simplified rectangled blocks for collision. The trees in the background are sprites made of a screenshot of a shadowmapped scene.
