Running Food - Playable Demo
Hello all! Some of you might remember our first demo, posted about a year ago. Well, we feel the game has improved quite a bit since then, so now it is time for another demo. Those of you who were at the DUSMania 7 have already seen this - all others enjoy the 4 playable levels! Readme is included, here is a screenshot: And here is the link: Playable Demo Have fun! Feedback is appreciated. :-) Gnometech

yeah, but i get the feeling that the enviroment is superb but the player model lacks detail and, well isn't ugly but doesn't look good
BASIC programmers never die, they GOSUB and don't RETURN.

I understand what you mean. I've got that feedback from others too, but, since the first prototype of the game, my main problem is the game content.
That's why I'm working on levels only until I have enough of them to offer it as a game instead of an extended demo.
My weakest point at the moment is the building of good levels. Modelling and Animations are no problem to me. I believe, that I still can change or add them at the end of the finishing of the game.
I'm deeply impressed of people like thegamemaker, who already built much level for their game.

The player however dont fit very well, not he model itself but the skin relative to the overall environment colors and textures, dont know if it is experimental yet.
The feedback advices me to overwork skin and mesh! (I will probably do it, when I finished the levels. I want to add models that one can choose, after finishing certain levels, too. Depends on how much time I find for this!)

Thank you, Ex Citer! Great, that you like it! It was a long way to go with unexpected issues on the way! A year ago, or even more, I thought that I have a perfect idea for all my levels. I build them with a terrain as the main part of the level _and_ the gameplay, it was very frustrating when Gnometech pointed out that it is almost unplayable. The following pics are from such an old level, now I got ideas how to re-use parts of it, but it is too frustrating for a gamer to play it, because you never know, wether the other characters escape from the 'canyons' or wether your player character will fall into one, and, wether you will manage to get him out of there!

@ the moderators: Could you please move this thread to Showcase I? Although we, Gnometech and me, still intend to finish this as a professional game, I'd like to post screenshots of half-done levels, and write about issues and backdraws, too! For that, I would feel better, if the thread gets a new home in Showcase I!

My vote: "Keep it in showcase II". Showcase II is for high quality games and also this type of games have a timeline from the beginning to the end with many states. It's always interresting to watch a good game growing... mercuryus
