DEXON Knight

Its time to show new images from DEXON Knight game. Prepare for long post
Big news is that George from Acknex magazine become main game programmer, so we have a really great team now. New memeber is Level design contest winner Lennart Hillen.
FrankG and myself like porject leaders...
Then we have Miguel and Nadester with their levels too, and fantastic music made by Samuel Anjam. We are only sorry that David AxysPhenomenon had to leave project because of his demanding game.
Of course all characters are made by ANDVARI.

i like the style of the game. but there needs to be more details like grass, plants, rocks etc.
i guess you will finally have smother shadows, right? it looks however promising... but why showcaseII, i think it belongs to scI since there is no demo, no release, ...

Your team is AMAZING

Professionnal looking game and levels , lightening

just some remarks like always :
-the outdoor green island level seem a bit empty)
-i don't ask slow stencil shadows , but in some last pics, uin the outdoor level
objects don't have shadows in the terrain (some sprites could do the job if
you can't paint on terrain)

I can see some influence on level design inspired from some
Garage Games (Torque engine) artist

If only people would follow your way instead of thinking in Doom3 or making Prey
or last shaders

Keep it up !
I dream of a demo

Yes, I agree, all levels are empty at this stage. We will have automatic grass script, and we have to add a lots of trees and foliage, gems to collect, enemies and so on. So much much work still to do. But that goes fast.
About game play: we will have a lots of enemy types like that DWARF enemy, then we will have knight enemy with sword fighting action, a lots of evil plants enemies, dragon enemies and a bunch of fixed enemies like arches coming out from hidden places. Game wil be a real adventure with lots of puzzles to solve, player can carry boxes over his head, you will have to jump over the moving platforms, player can climb up to the platform, climb to ladders, you can make yourself a path to upper platform by throwing boxes and making yourself some kind of a pyramid to go up.
Also we will have some pure platformers levels with side camera.
So beside fun this game will have strong educational line, teaching smal kids to read, do MATH and recognize colors.

Why adding lot of objects ?
anime style don't need lot of objects, like Killer 7 game ,
it has details where necessary , not lot of grass and trees everywhere
It's not meaned to be realistic !

You could do 2 versions :
- for kids with maths
- for hard core gamers without maths and more ennemies , more fast
that ask more reflexes or dangerous.

Some screens look pretty impressive, but others still look a bit poor and boring. There seems to be some remarkable difference in level quality.

Once you fix this, it will look great. I hope it will play as well.
