DEXON Knight

Its time to show new images from DEXON Knight game. Prepare for long post
Big news is that George from Acknex magazine become main game programmer, so we have a really great team now. New memeber is Level design contest winner Lennart Hillen.
FrankG and myself like porject leaders...
Then we have Miguel and Nadester with their levels too, and fantastic music made by Samuel Anjam. We are only sorry that David AxysPhenomenon had to leave project because of his demanding game.
Of course all characters are made by ANDVARI.

We used WED for BSP levels,
Freeworld 3D and GIMP for terrains.
Some terrains have painted shadows in one big texture with detail mapping.
Some terrains use multitexturing with additional shadowmap.
We use some materials for plants.
Modelling has been done with Gamespace, MED, Lightwave and Hexagon.
Lightwave has a plugin for export, Gamespace can export and Hexagon does not have plugins to do so.

Thanks for the infos Frank_G.

When you talk about lightwave export , what do you mean , you use also
Milkshape , or you have a direct plugin to export from lightwave dirctly
to MDL7 (with animations ?)

I think future Conitec terrain editor will help a lot artists workflow
and i hope we will have it before christmas

Even a guy using TV3D engine has coded a terrain editor allowing deformation,
painting with anti aliasing etc ... in less than one month , and by months
i mean he has worked in it in it's spare time in the months not all days fully.
Does Conitec team really work full days in the engine ??

Well we are dreaming of a demo now

Yes. There is a plugin from greenbriar studio for Lightwave. This one can export bones and vertex animations. And there is an additional plugin for level geometry. With that you can even export your geometry from lightwave as a level. And it even uses WAD files for textures when you like to. But I never tried that before.

And yes. We need a better realtime toolset to speed up the work and see results as you work on them. You can do that with IceX2 and hopefully soon with GameEdit. Until then you have to create alpha and rgb channel manually, what a pain

Indeed , what a pain !
And Torque Game Engine , it has complete terrain ,sky ,water editors
from more than 5 or 10 years.
What a shame for 3DGS.

Nice job guys. No need to credit me, I didn't really contribute as much to you guys as I would have liked to If you need another level designer, just send me a PM, I have a lot more free time now.
