Those where you can read "concept art" are not from the engine and the rest is? Just a guess... ;\)

I still don't see any advantage in switching the engine. Why not prototyping in the software that is used for the final result (Except for if you can't afford it yet). That would minimize the risk and show what is really possible and what isn't.

Oh right, didn't spot* the bar heh.

You use prototyping for making something quickly together as a sketch to get a visual on the final product. Some engines are good for putting things together fast and easy (but doesn't look very nice), while others are good at rendering beautiful scenes with fast fps (but developping takes much longer).

Concept art is made for giving an impression and feeling for the game. Rendering a conceptart image takes time and usually not suitable to be used in games. The engine rendering this image is often included with pricey model editors like 3dsmax and maya.

I guess the last 3 were made from a model editor. Still, the first 3 pictures are very nice. The difference is noticeable actually (first 3 are more empty and have less color than the last 3), but without the concept art images I could not imagine how the 3dgs shots could have been better :P.

*read: didn't bother to search

Great looking project, nothing more to add.

@Joozey:
If you take a closer look to the bottom of each screenshot you might see a black bar and in the middle of it there is some little text, almost impossible to read, I know, but it eventually says something like "Concept Art". Which might be an evidence for the certain picture not being in-engine but rather be a drawn concept art.

From an advertising point of view I definitely like that world better though ... get paid for your ads instead. LOL!
