Well, let's try again. I do following: - run MED 6.872 (from GS); - create the cube; - enter "bone mode"; - press "create bone"; - create 2 hinge points (and 1 bone); - release "create bone"; - draw a rectangle around the hinge points AND THE BONE (now they all are red); - enter "apply vertices mode"; - draw a rectangle around all the vertices of the cube (now they are red); - want to press "apply vertices" but IT IS INACTIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is the same fignya in MED 6.873. !!!H!!!E!!!L!!!P!!!.........................
Mistakes may be here coz my English in not perfect.

you should select only 1 hinge point at once, and the both the point and vertices must be selected.

i currently have med 6.884 installed.(tho, i never had that issue with older versions)
-create a cube -go to bone mode -create 2 hinges -go to apply verts mode -select a hinge, select verts -click on the apply button -works for me.
even if verts are not selected, button is active.
you may try assigning a shortcut key to apply vertices.
go med->file->preferences->keyboard the first one is aply vertices(BONES:Add vertices)
Be sure that the model is MDL7.

you forgot to choose a hinge!(though I call it bone) You have to click on one, before you select any vertices
... - press "create bone", create two hinge points connected by one bone; - select one of them; ...
p.s. -go to apply verts mode -select a hinge, select verts
But I can't select a hinge AFTER pressing "apply vertices mode"... (?)

But I can't select a hinge AFTER pressing "apply vertices mode"... (?) Sure you can! But, you can't select it by the rectangle, you have to _click_ on it, instead!

Well, let's try again (MED 6.872): ... - enter "apply vertices mode"; - click on the hinge point (Yes, i can select it); - select all vertices of the cube; - "apply vertices" button IS INACTIVE;
Well, let's try again (MED 6.873): ... - enter "apply vertices mode"; - click on the hinge point (Yes, i can select it); - select all vertices of the cube; - and "apply vertices" is inactive again!
