First of all (because it was the easiest thing to find out ^^): no, I'm definitly not a Radeon-User, I have a GForce 8500 GT.

I checked the guard.mdl-file regarding its texture. It is definitly *not* a 32 bit-file, but it is also not a 24 bit file either, it is a 16 bit file, but that shouldn't matter... But what I noticed when I opened it in MED was that the error did NOT occour in the 3D-view. Well, I selected "24bit" for the texture format, saved the model and loaded the level again, unfortunately the error still occours in the engine-preview. What I tried next was flipping the normals of the guard-model, but that didn't do the trick at all, suddenly the texture was *inside* the model... should have seen this comming, I guess XD

So it has nothing to do with 32bit-texture and my self-made model worked fine after flipping the normals, the demos all worked without any problems. Might sound stupid but it seems like my 3DGS doesn't like the guard.mdl XD

I also tried to use a terrain (hmp)-file - no problems at all, everything seems normal, in the WED 3D-View as well as in the engine-preview. I don't know WHAT is wrong about this specific guard.mdl, but it seems to affect only that single model...

Well, whatever - everything (excluding the guard.mdl XD) is back to normal, thanx to all of you ^^

Greetz!
