Luckily I don't bite. wink
There're several disadvantages. First off you can't write a game in less than a day (i.e. prototyping is only fast if you've already built a little framework with collision etc.), secondly shaders are a pain (at least in the beginning)

On the other hand you can code oop which makes a lot of things a lot easier.
Engine is open source so you can change whatever you want.
No license

I like Irrlicht but for beginners A6/7 is certainly the better tool and if you're in a hurry you should take one of the licensed engines out there.

Anyway good job Slin. smile

During the last week I tried myself on a Watershader and ended up with the idea to build a simple environmentsystem. So far it is just the water, multitexturing with underwater caustics, per pixel lighting and some vertexanimation for underwater plants. I plan to add a skysystem with volumetric clouds, some shadowmapping for the sun and maybe some other stuff like vertexanimated grass and such, but that all depends on my time and mainly on how much fun I´ve got with working on it wink.

Here is a screeshot:

(yes I know that it is a lot of bloom, but I have to say that I like it that way :P, at least for now ;))

Here is a new Screenshot showing the shadersky during one day cycle. I still need to tweak the colors a bit and I want to add a moving sun (with the colors changing dependant on this) and a moon and stars, if possible all within this shader:
