Hi,
I've spent so much time reading posts and redoing things over and over. I really need help. I've got 3ds Max 2008 and the correct .fbx exporter mentioned. I've got A7 Commercial version of Gamestudio. I can export simple movement type animation like was shown in the video that was posted, but I can't get a character out of max and into MED. I have a low poly guy. I used biped and added a walk .bip file just to see if it works. I export and check and uncheck all the boxes and it just doesn't animate in MED at all. In MED I see all of the frames, but the model doesn't change or move.

I keep reading posts where people are having problems and then it suddenly works. I need that to happen! Really appreciate any help.

Is there a step by step tutorial anywhere for this?

Thanks,

Gumby

i don't have a7, but i remember a similar problem i once had in a6 (all frames there, no anim).
a) do you have multiple groups, like one closed mesh for the leg, one for the head etc? make them just one.
b) maybe the fbx exporter doesn't read your skinning/envelope modifier correctly. maybe you have to restrict the influence of bones to certain vertices by assigning them to the appropriate bones, not by just enveloping the mesh (c4d needed that step).

i worked alot with max9 and a7 over fbx export/import.

Faced most of the problems mentioned in the forums. I got some conclusion:

-Before doing anything(i mean before applying modifiers) make your model editable poly.

-Smoothing groups are lost when you export to fbx 11.2006 so dont use them.

-Skin,Physique modifiers sometimes does arkward things. Adding/removing a frame sometimes helps.

-While importing from med, make sure you have checked "BONES" and unchecked "convert to points animation" at import dialog.

-As Broozar mentioned, try to use 1 closed mesh.If you need more then 1 closed mesh, at least make sure your meshes are not open.

If you have other problems maybe i can help.
