were I am so far and what im stuck on:

I created a room
created a player char with the plBiped01.wdl scripted
created an enemy with the AIFPSO1_Guard script

And well im stuck on how do I not only Modify the weapons I have but also how to creat weapons from scratch

The tutorial gets me lost when it tells me to (Open up the customization dialog on "Biped Player Weapons":) then displays the menu I should see but never really explains were im to click or right click or if its only acsesable via hot key? It just leaves me hanging there.

my main problem at the moment is just changing or getting ride of the default weapons and adding in my own ither instantly or by having the player walk over a model.

Lastly all my enemies shoot a red lazer beem and I haven't found anything that explains how to change that.

so if anyone could help whould appreshiate it

and to clarify im asking such noob questions because after I couldn't figure it out looking over the WED Tut. or 3DGS Manual I prosided to spend the money on the Official guide to 3DGS book on amazon and then on the creat 3D games.com video tutorial (nither of wich helped)

hi oblivion, well firstly the templates only provide you with a couple of features. Anything like creating weapons from scratch has to be done manually using 3d models and then their behaviours scripted using one of the 3DGS scripting languages - c-script or lite-c > use lite-c, c-script is old.

So yes this means you are going to have to learn a scripting language if you want to build anything unique in your game, that the templates dont have.

My advice > ditch the templates and learn the lite-c workshops off the donwloads page.

As for learning lite-c there is only one tutorial I know of unless im mistakeing.

If you do know of any tutorials in lite-c for makeing a first person shooter from scratch. other than that I guess I'll try the ones on the AU pages

well there are a couple fps tutorials on the AU written by grimber but be warned some it is in c-script, so i suggest you learn lite-c before you go ahead and try to convert it.

There aren't many FPS tutorials in lite-c i believe.

Ok i downloaded the shooter tutorial episode 1 but every time i try to open it i get a message that says

Abnormal Program Termination

Is this because theres a problem with my Word or is it just the weird format the tutorials in?

Ok well its not my Word program its somthing wrong with the way the person that made it saved it or something they did in it because i get it open but then am forced to close it out right away. does anyone have this in another format like adobe?

hmmm, well i've never had any problems opening that tutorial, i've used it loads of times.

I would say that the problem is part of WINWORD.exe rather than the tutorial. Are you sure it was extracted correctly from the .zip file. Also make sure you didn't have a bad download, and try to download it again.
