yes exacly, otherwise, i guess it will get zero position, :s though maybe thats not the solution to your problem.

ok you set skill1 to the x positio of the light source..

the sun_objecta, is a object entity , that has a function that will assign sun_objecta to that action, then the light will be from that object you place in wed.

so i change say skill1 to 1000 and that will shift the sun pos out from the center to 1000 on the x axis? but im confused a lot lol, there is no action code in your code is there? i mean i did a planet action and assigned it to me planet but what action do i write for a sun, i mean what do i call in it? sorry for being so slow here mate.
Code:
action planet_action
{
	my.material = shader_planet;

}

thats the action i`m applying to the planet

ok the planet action is correct.

Now, i do't know about you but i have a sun on my space, and that sun will be the light source for the planets....

So i have also this action
entity* sun_objecta;
action sun_object{
sun_objecta=me; //assign the sun_objecta to this object in wed
}

Now the positions will be automatycly calculated.. if you don't change the skills since the material skills, points to sun_objecta ! got it? ehe

No problem mate.

could you please post a working demo with the planet shader working in lite-c. That would save a lot of errors.

Thanks

not the wed sun! its actually a sun model... lol. in my game i have a sun with an attacked sun sprite, and assign the sun_object model, and that were it will get the values, and you put the sun acoording to the planet position.

abou the lite- c, there no need for demo, and i don't use lite-c, there is no error here. it works for me.. I mean its just a shader come on, you just need the fx file, that i provided, and the entity (sun) action and the planet action, that's all.

now if the shading is not working, but no errors are shown, seams there is a little problem with the model, or card, since this works for me, and for others too..

ok here is a demo.
DOWNLOAD 430kb

run it, and tell me if it works, if you see the effect..

the left,is not shader, the middle, is planet white (you see just the effect), the right is the planet texture + shader...
