That "unnecessary text" is needed for the editor. It marks for examples variables to be set. I guess an "optimizing feature" would already be in there if it would be that easy
What the editor does is just lining up a lot of different formulas until you get the desired effect. But many things could be done much easier than the combination of all those nodes is.
