Superman Returns has pretty much been forgotten; however there is a sequel coming with a real villain (enough of the Lex Luthor crap), Brandon Routh, and called "The Man of Steel." It was well made, but it was missing something. It was essentially a remake of Superman: The Movie, although Bryan Singer (director) said he was trying to capture that Superman I and II feeling.

There will be a Superman/Batman movie one day. Wolfgang Peterson was attached to direct a few years ago before Batman Begins was made, and they tried to do a Justice League movie (which was thankfully shelved...sounded terrible but that will get made too but recast and rewritten). As long as Bats gets himself an oversized pair of Kryptonite gloves and pounds the crap out of Supes (and wins as he always does), I'll be happy.
