Sorry I did not mean to offend with my coarse opinion.
To me music in a game is just something that fill's in background noise.
I am playing Bio Shock and the music is pretty much meaningless to me. I just finished Crysis and I do not remember any of the music...
Now music for a trailer about the game is very important. It has it's place. I just do not elevate it to the level of art and game code.
Sorry we differ on that...
During my pitches of games, music, was never an issue or a part of the pitch. I pitch, game play, art, animation, skill of artists, skill of programmers. Publishers have never asked about my music choices...
This just my opinion, and experience...
Footnote: As a professional developer, that has to raise funds for games, it would be a real pain if my musician and voice talent became a large part of my budget. I would probably shit can the project and find something else....
