Check the size of the base frame of the model used for the player entity. The size of the model in that frame determines how much space the model takes up.

Example: Most models have a "T" pose for their base. Being that the arms are stretched out in that pose, when the model tries to pass through the door it's like the arms are still stretched out even though the entity is using a walking animation.
