The heading of this thread is wrong. If you want to become an artist then you have to open your mind. You will learn much details from the world around you. You will try as much techniques as you can. You will find workarounds, solutions and tricks. You must be smart. And you should use as much tools as you can.

As an artist you should not exclude something like (A vs. B). Both can inspire you!
