absolutely, but mmos are different. a huge part of their appeal is their community. so if two mmos are very similar, people will be pulled to one or the other, usually the one with a bigger userbase.

go for it, by all means, as it will be a good game-making experience. but if i were you i would try to separate it from eve as much as practical.
