Honestly we do have reason to be excited for exactly the reason Toast just stated. If somebody could get something to top DX10 that could work on Linux, XP, Mac, you'd have a nice group of people to sell to, instead of just DX10 Vista owners. As stated in the article.

You're right it is a shame this has taken so long. Honestly I've been under the influence that OpenGL was dead in all but console systems. True I don't know very much about this stuff, but I know enough to game! lol
