Hello All,

for testing, I made me a "hextile 3D map" (a closed model) and a "tile marker" (a simple flat face collection with texture). When clicking on the map, the marker is placed where clicked (see pic1 below).

The problem is that even if parts of the marker should be hidden by the map, they aren't (see pic2 below - what I call the "Z-order problem").

I found some posts here and tried several changes already (like, OVERLAY, other materials, etc.), but could not really solve this. My best guess so far is that it might be a problem with the map model...

If anyone got some hints for me, I'd really appreciate that. The models and code are here for download, if you want to take a look:

This is the Source+Models+.cd dir (about 1MB)

Thanks a lot.

Just change the Model Textures Bit from 32 to 24 (in MED -> manage skins- > skin settings -> Texture format -> "24 bit")

Everything is possible, just Do it!

Poison, thanks for your input.
Sadly, the texture were set to 24bit already.
I set them to 32 (the map looks ugly then), and back to 24.
Did not solve the problem. Any other ideas?
