i see what you mean -- typically the guard's "just doing my job" while a rebel is, well, rebelling against something. which is more interesting? from that perspective, definitely the rebel. what if the guard has a personal history with this rebel -- what if he's not just a guard, he's an authoritative character with a grudge against this rebel who has taken it upon himself to oversee the safe-keeping of this rebel until he's properly dealt with?
then again, maybe they're both equally boring. each is just doing the job assigned to them, and the rebel's job was arrest-worthy. i guess even then the rebel's more interesting, because his life at that point would revolve around his imprisonment and hopeful escape.
is your game or project going to have a strong story-line, if any, mercuryus?
anyway, i'm tuned in.

Guards are usually corrupt And depending on the setting they might be hated by citizens or the like. So might just walk over to the next house and colelct the monthly fee, or suppress soemone to get further information... Rebels... there are hudnreds of games where you're fleeing from the guards lead by some sort of evil dastardly king. But you never get to play the guard!

is that why you want to be a guard, firoball? julz Of course. Played the good guy way too often in games. For some reason the guy escaping ALWAYS is the good guy. That's so annoying.

...is your game or project going to have a strong story-line... I'm sorry - the story is very short. Actual it's only some sentences. But at the moment you see the first preview of the game (in some weeks) you will understand why it's enough - it' an adaption of a VERY established game. Sorry that I don't tell much more - I'm still so excited with this idea
