Hello.

Just recently have I purchased the commercial version of A7.
I'm currently stuck at converting my shaders for A7 and am in need of help. Actually, I need some one to do it for me.
It's a total of 4 shaders which need to be converted, 2 normal map shaders (not too different from one another), 1 skin shader, 1 hair shader. I've been using these shaders with Darkbasic Pro (please forgive me if mentioning other 3D engines is not allowed) and I would like to do so in A7.
Since I specialize in 3D assets I would offer my services in return. Let's say for 1 character. Below is a sample of my recent work:

Please post if interested or leave your email address.
Thanks !

have you been to forums like that? if so... wow, thats bad
no, no one here are a$$#013s, we have arguments constantly over what engines are best,so just mentioning it wont get you in trouble, sorry I cant make the shader for you right now, so my post is off topic, just wanted to say welcome, and nice model.

Oh yes, I've experienced forums where mods would close discussions on other engines, I also encountered a fanatic userbase. So I'm a bit more careful if it comes to mentioning other 3D engines. But I'm glad to hear that this forum is open to such discussions. By the way, thanks for the welcome and the compliment !

Another question which is somehow related to my inquiry.
Is it possible in A7 to use multiple shaders on, let's say a character ? In DBPro I achieve this by applying shaders to different "limbs" subobjects. I divide the model into different parts for clothing (normal map), skin (skin shader) and hair, but export it as a single .x file. Then I would read out the specific "limb" numbers of each subobject and apply the shader to that "limb". Sorry am just not yet familiar with the mdl format.

Thanks !

hmm.... i am not sure about that, but i could think of a work around, if you used a color map to decide what part of the shader to execute on that part of that model, not sure of the speed of something like this, but it might work.

That sounds a bit more complicated than just applying a shader to a "limb" through code. Maybe there is an easier way in the editor. Thanks for the infos and suggestions ! At the moment I just hope that i'll find some one who's willing to take a look at the shaders.

wouldnt be too difficult to do, the hardest part would only be the shader itself.

If you could show me one of the shaders, I could decide if I can do it or not. It shouldn´t be too much work to do it, but that depends on the shader, as I have no experience with darkbasic. You can find my eMail adress in my profile.

You can assign several skins for different parts of a model in med. There you can also assign shaders and some basic material parameters to those subparts.

Hi Slin, thanks a lot for the offer. I will email you the shaders so you could take a look at it.
