Looks to me like a false warning, as Adware.Rabio is a BHO and 3DGS installs nothing like this.
You should report the file to PC Ware for checking, so that they can update their definition file

They said they put it in there. So please get the facts before you comment the next time. Quite frankly I am offended by BHO's because they hijack your system. There is a bill in our congress in the USA to make it illegal. Even the politicians are getting sick of having their computers hijacked. Running a scan and cleaning all of the hijacks out, the machine operates like a new computer, otherwise it runs like a dog. All of us Game Deveopers need to keep our computer finely tuned, when a program crashes we need to know if it was us or a thousand Hijackers, all vying for the internet connection. The line coming from jcl is pablum and sounds like an American politician's excuse.

@jcl: Thanks for your response. I want to make it clear that I am sure that 3DGS would not distribute anything harmful in their software and I never meant to insinuate any such thing.

Nevertheless you should notify the manufacturer of your adware program about false alerts, and you can send him the uninstaller for testing.

I have to apologize that I cannot honor your request for ME to send the uninstaller.exe file to PC Tools Spyware Doctor. It is after all YOUR Spyware that has Hijacked MY computer (harmful or not) and it remains your responsibility to keep it off of any spyware lists.
Spyware Doctor considers it to be a Medium risk infection, not a harmless false alert and not a low-risk infection. As far as I am concerned Spyware Doctor did it's Job wonderfully and I can not fault them. I applaud them and will continue to use their service.

ATOMIX: adware is a program that automatically downloads advertisements to a PC. Don't confuse this with a virus: unlike viruses, adware in Gamestudio had to be intentionally implemented by us.

You call it adware, I call it Spyware. I would never confuse it with a Virus, but it is considered by people way more qualified than me to be an infection. You have my email address, if you want to send me an advertisement, send me an email. I might read it. The reason developers are stooping to this invasive practice is that no one wants to read their advertisements and deletes their emails. Simply a difference of opinion. Now that we know about the infection, we have taken measures to deal with it.

I guess it is OK now for software developers to write BHO's into their software. Actually the US Congress is considering bills to make Hijacking computers (BHO's) illegal and have already been holding hearings on the matter. Even the politicians are sick of their computers being controlled by someone other than themselves. While your companies Hijack may be harmless, many are not and need to be dealt with. The loss of bandwidth from Hijackers (BHO's) is huge on the Wifi networks. I know from personal experience as I have worked in Telecom for over 20 years and the BHO's that are so harmless are clogging up our networks. We get more bandwidth and someone always wants to hog more than their share, such is the way of humanity.

If you feel that your company has to do this to your software that is your prerogative. I almost understand your reasons. I just would have liked to have been warned in advance so I would be prepared. Once again thanks for the explanation of your companies policy and reasoning.

Right!! you must have the version without Virus Protection. This detected a Trojan.Virtumonde which is also an advertisement BHO but considered a Trojan because it makes multiple copies of itself. It is known in Kaspersky as the following:
Quote:
Trojan.Win32.BHO.hj [Kaspersky Lab]
Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Agent.dlu [Kaspersky Lab]
not-a-virus: AdWare.Win32.Virtumonde.wi [Kaspersky Lab]
The bottom line is this engine is polluted. We have had so many problems with 7.50 that we uninstalled it and went back to 7.10. 7.50 would not run our level at all. It got Errors on every model (W 1309) about not having the right sized textures. The only problem is that none of our textures are off-size. They are all to the power of two and square, 64x64, 128x128, 256x256 etc. So rather than mess with it we went back to the previous version.

@Atomix:
We all can see and understand your concerns. But as said above, 3DGS does not contain such
malware/spyware/trojans/bho's things in it. From time to time it can happen that anti-virus
software or anti-spyware software detects something wrong, like when a certain
packing or encryption algorythm is used which was previously used by an author of virus software.

Just to be sure I would suggest you to download one or two competition trial-products
like McAfee or AVG, and rescan your pc to see what happends and what they'll found.

Isn't it in your own interest to have the file checked and verified if it is infected or not ? So why not take the 5 minutes to write an email, instead of arguing who's responsibility it is.
If you consider 3DGS to be unsafe, it's your prerogative to not use the software.

My guess is, you misunderstood this statement:

.
Adware would have to be implemented intentionally, and if they should do so, we would be able to read about it in the release list.

I did find this comment pretty harsh, considering that old_bill just gave his opinion and advice. He for sure didn't put it in there, that is if there is any threat inside the uninstaller.

My advice is, email the file to the Spyware Doctors and then contact support upon confirmation.

Problem is I used all those and you need to re-read jcl's response. He admitted that they did it.
