Seems that Blender Game Engine is starting to become a real choice for game development. The newest feature is softbodies (erwin added them to demonstrate his physics engine, bullet). Here are some ingame screens from some of the best looking projects:

Looks quite nice but im a bit sceptic. I only see one room. How does a game runs with this graphic setup. I mean there are more than one room, many functions, particles, etc. Would be a great option for people who work with blender anyway.
here you can see bigger levels but i think performance really is a bit of a problem.
the blender game engine still has some shortcomings (which hopefully will be worked on now that there is more attention) but i think regarding the workflow of level and shader editing it already is nicer than everything else out there.

The bathroom video looks fantastic. The shaders and physics are impressive!
But the apricot game demo from the current cute animal project is really slow. I always wondered why they picked up this Crystal Space 3d and not Ogre or similar.
Up to now I don't know of a single impressive project made with Crystal Space. But I don't know if the slowdown comes from the renderer, the scene-management or the scripting. Only the BGE guys can tell this.

They probably picked up CS because of the previous work done on integrating blender/crystalspace. Basically they already had something to work with. The integration of OGRE or some other engine would have required much more time and money for the apricot team.

Thanks, Ventilator, for this link. It was an interesting read. But I am still confused. They are talking about BGE vs. CS vs. GLSL and about B2CS. I really thought CS was an integrated part, I thought IT WAS the BGE. But it looks like there is a difference.
