intro:
A friend an I have been working on a multiplayer futuristic RPG for a few months now and we're starting to realize that neither one of us is really skilled at making good models.

what we need:
We are looking for a model designer to round out our team. As far as skill goes we are not very picky (beggers can't be choosers) but we are looking for dedication. We have worked hard for months so we would want someone who can work on their own and just send an email at least once every other day.

what we offer:
This is a hobby game. HOWEVER, we are very serious and do plan to publish. My level designer has a connection with a publisher while I work for an advertizing company. ALL PROFIT WILL BE SPLIT 33.33% between the three of us. Again, just to be crystal clear. THERE WILL BE NO UPFRONT PAY, but if you believe in the project like we do and see it to the end then we will all (hopefully) get very rich smile.

contact us:
You can contact me by PM or better yet send me an email (or both):
jchillemi@earthlink.net

If there are any questions please let me know. I will try to post some pictures up soon.

What I need:
Some definite reason to join you, I've seen too many online projects that were "serious". I would also require working prototype and screenshots.

You won't get dedicated people without showing something.

Hiya.

I second Inestical; give us a web site (non-free..."banners n' ads" scream 'we are not serious and we don't have enough faith in what we're doing to put a few bucks into it'). On the web site, show a few teasers (screen shots of levels in progress, concept art, etc.). Have a basic outline of the style/feel of the game. In short, have artists walk away from your site thinking "Man, that looks cool! I have a million ideas already!". smile

Hey guys sorry for not posting in a few but after a week I thought that no one was really interested. You all make alot of good points. I've been avoiding making a website because I thought that would be more time to just pour into valiants. I do have a working prototype. Again it's a prototype... it's not fun or anything it just shows all the working features we have done. We also have 2 full levels. I will ask my level designer to make a video of him flying through both our completed levels and maybe even the new 3rd level he's working on. The 3 levels are really big cities. We also have a 4th out door level. I guess today instead of working on our game "Valants" I'll start designing a website. I will invest into a payipayed site as soon as valiants is done.

I like that. How are you doing the shadows?
Are they baked or realtime?

Hi Pappenheimer,

yes I am, I build the models and levels, while Prence writes the code and he is real wizard at coding. We got a working multiplayer code which was tested with a server in New York and a client in Germany.

In my real life, I am translator who also translates video games into German. meaning that I work closely with some game development companies for eight years now and they are always interested in new games (BigBen Interactive, Lizard Enterprises, Pebble Entertainment etc.) So far about being serious.

Cheers
Rince
