Okay, I first posted this in the Getting Started board and was told I should post it here. Sorry for the double post. ---------
Almost a year ago I bought a copy of A7 from someone, had the license transferred, got it installed, and registered here on the forums. All that went well. Shortly after that my computer crashed. Got a new computer, but never reinstalled GameStudio. I have another new computer now and decided to get back into GS, but I'm having trouble getting it installed. I don't have the original emails from Conitec anymore, lost them in the crash. I don't even know what address I used originally for the email address.
I do have the original registry key that I used when I first installed it, but it doesn't seem to work now. I'm using Vista now, that may be part of it. I can't log into My Account, I guess I don't have the right info for that either. Basically, I have nothing except the latest download for GS and I know I own the Commercial license. Other than that I'm sitting here on my thumbs with nowhere to go. I can't find a place to send a support ticket in to Conitec. So, I registered a new forum account here hoping I could find something out. I just want to re-install the program.
I do have the original username and password, but as I said I can't log into My Account with it.
Do I have any options? Thanks...

We use neither a registry key nor a My Account, so I am not sure what you mean.
For installing Gamestudio, download it from the download page, and copy your key file into the installation folder for unlocking it.
Thanks jcl. It had been so long I didn't remember you just had to copy the key file to the folder, I mistakenly assumed it was a registry key. I'm sure this must be documented somewhere, but I couldn't find it. The My Account was where I ended up in search of retrieving a new key from (I believe) your payment gateway. Which was probably another mistake, but it's where I ended up at some point during the search. Anyway, thanks for the answer. I copied the key file over and everything is fine...

The key file and the lastest download should do. I think you need full rights under Vista - I don't own Vista, but there are Vista users which can help for sure.
the other thing sounds like you're talking about the forum account. It has nothing to do with your commercial license. You can register 10 times at the forum if you want - it has no influence. Thanks Firoball. The account thing was at the payment gateway as I mentioned above, somehow searching for how to retrieve a lost key got me to that point. That's where there was a My Account that I couldn't remember the login details. Also couldn't remember them for the forum here, so I did a forgotten password thing but never got one, so I had to assume it was going to an account I no longer use. Finally gave up on that and just created this account. I knew I could make a new one here, but it got to be a mission to try and get into my old one. No problem with Vista, but I turned the UAC off when I first got the new machine. Too annoying. All the modules seem to work fine with it so far. Anyway, it was a simple thing once jcl reminded me of what to do. Maybe I can get back into this now and have some fun with it. Thanks again...
