1st goto is crap, while offers you the possibility to jump without the need of jump-points you need with goto.

2nd this solution does not provide the internal structure of a real switch, but it avoids the check of all following ifs that don't need to be checked any more.

3rd C-Script ruuuuuuuuuuulez! ;-)

Why does C-Script "rule"? Lite-C is better and easier. Are you just too lazy to learn a new language? wink

c-script requires thinking in a more creative way than lite-c does...that's more fun wink

c-script behaves like wimen...you never really know the results in advance. That is sooooo exiting laugh

c-script...simply ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuules!!! grin

I know a dozen of programming languages, including C and C++, thus I'd be able to use c-lite.

I agree with loopix, most fun are the "reboot my machine" codes with c-script because you did something wrong with passing variables or something the likes. laugh

On the other hand I simply don't have the time to rework all my projects each update, there are not always language changes but engine changes, too, that have to be reworked to run as intended before.
I guess my multiplayer games wouldn't run any more and for single player only Dragonrise with close to 20.000 lines of code is just as a new project to get everything right.
That's not what I prefer wasting my time with, I want to see results and for results, c-script is fast as hell if you master it. (see morpg battle made in 5 days - after work).

I know the pain.

I tried to get 4LW running on A7 - staying with C-script. Did not work at all laugh
I guess I won't release a sequel smile

This is why I'm now building up a neat toolbox library for all generic stuff. I hope it will save me a lot of hassle later.

Actually it's not as hard you think to convert. I converted about 10,000 lines in a single night from c-script to lite C when it first came out. I guess an entire night is alot of time but was worth it for me. The new multiplayer code that A7 offers is a pretty nice improvement for me so worth it's worth it.
