If a webpage is created, it has to be done PROPERLY.

If a webpage is created it has to be done working. That's good enough. Even for most professionals wink

I would be lost to keep my 80 subpages up to date by doing it with handcoding. Ever searched for the correct cell in a table with 100 cells? I open it in Kompozer and can directly manipulate its content. In seconds. And that shall be slower? Hmm smile

And again we are back at the point what you want to do. You seem to make lots of webpages. In a professional manner. And here you have indeed no other choice than learning to code manually. Nothing wrong with that. But as a sidenote, lots of professional web designers uses Dreamweaver for example. Because it is much faster and good enough.

And now let's talk about semi or better said non professional useage. The topic starter wants to make a little page. Something he can do within hours with an editor. How long does it take to learn HTML plus the needed CSS and a language like PHP for additional functionality so that you can do a little page? Is that also done in hours? And even when you have learned it, how long does it take to write a table manually? That's one click in a WYSIWYG editor. Are you equal fast with writing it?

I do both. I use WYSIWYG and i do handcoding where needed. I use them both as a tool. And use the one where the other is slower or more complicated. There is no real wrong or right. Just a "the tool does the job" plus the decision which one to use.

I am of course not a professional. My page is a hobbypage. But that's the whole point here. It is good enough to use a WYSIWYG for my needs smile

I use dreamweaver for FTP and i like the PHP function's where it tells you what arguments are needed. But i like notepad++ because of the way it shows you what bracket ends where, good for debugging php.
