The bottom line is that you cannot make a next gen game with any of the indie game engines. That means gamestudio, torque, wintermute,... whatever. To make a next gen game on any of the platforms you need a next gen engine, those usually start at $30 grand.
Gamestudio is a nice complete package, you can make a fun game, you can make a popular game, you may even make a game that makes you a little money but you won't make a next gen game.
Warez?? maybe... there are people with that kind of funds laying around. Usually they just end up with a nice shiny copy of Maya on their computer and never use it.
If you are serious about this, and you have a legit copy of Maya:
Buy the latest photoshop suite (including vector graphics)
Buy a $5000-$6000 computer set up.
So if you have the skills this $10,000 investment will give you a nice little graphic arts studio. You can make money with that if you have the skills... web design, adds etc. Use those graphic arts skills to make games with gamestudio. It would be great for that. You will probably need to buy your programing.
If you are not interested in graphic arts Maya was a really poor investment. Way to expensive to be using for just making low poly game models!
