Hi !
Implementing an option to WED to add navigation meshes in a map would really be useful, plus an option to show/hide these meshes.
here are some pics / an article to demonstrate what i mean :

cheers

The navigation meshes are basically an advanced, but more complex
approach for pathfinding / other search algorythms.

I rather suggest to implement a better line-graph-editor.
In the end the graphs are just infromation, wich needs
to be used in a thoughfull way by the user.
(And only few users actually manage to put up a working pathfinding)

What is more important is to provide an easy to implement
pathfinding function for inexperianced users (based on
line-graphs). Could be a templeates feature then.

You are right with your points. Especially the one for a pathfinding function for inexperienced users (which is currently worked on - from the forecast : "Advanced AI HI - intelligent tracking and pathfinding.") !

But still this options would be nice, although your point about the waypoint-graph editor gave me an intuition about how to easily visualize them with the tools already available. (although it won't look as graphic as the original) :

###create the mesh via paths###
- every mesh is one path
- the edges of the mesh are path nodes
- then it is quite easy to get the position of the mesh and it's boundaries in lite-c

Well that should do the trick i think - for now ^^

get the C# wrapper:
for A7.85.4 and A8.30.4, Version 2.3.9
