Thank you Quadraxas but in my case all vertices are open and when I do what you say:

Go to vertex mode
Start mesh tester
(Mesh tester selects the open faces.)
hit merge button-> MED wants me to load another MDL to merge it?!

Sorry I´m new to modeling in MED. Did I something wrong?
