Quick premise:
The player plays as a cat that has been given human level (gordon-freeman-smart) intelligence and a robotic armor as part of a research program.

The gameplay is action-oriented, with some half-life and legend of zelda styled puzzles in it. The player can enter and exit the suit at will, and there are advantages to both using the suit and not using the suit; though the player ultimately must use both.

Supercat's enemies are the Dogbots. They were created by the same research program as Supercat. Many Dogbots were produced after they were approved for use in war (secretly, of course), but instead they realized that they could easily overpower their human masters and are now bent on world domination (sort of).

Here is a link to the YouTube playlist: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=E7D775BF97B9288B
(of course, the most recent videos are the most accurate)

Also the current Project SUPERCAT homepage is:
http://www.clydeshaffer.com/clydeshaffer/supercat.htm

But I do have to ask that you please refrain from using the download link on the main page... I'm not sure if my bandwith allows so many large downloads and the link is intended primarily to distribute the game to my "testing staff"

I'll have more screenshots and videos as I go, so please give feedback to help me make this game as good as I can. By the end of the year I hope to finish it enough to actually release it and sell it. (Most of the artwork is going to be redone)

Thanks for looking! laugh

At first, when I read about the concept, I thought "wtf?!"
But the gameplay is indeed promising.

You can squeeze alot of fun out of this project. Keep it up!

Thank you, and I'll be sure to keep it up indeed!

Any suggestions how I can make it look nicer? I know the HUD needs work, but then again I already have an entry on my list marked "replace MS-Paint images with Photoshop images".

Maybe full screen toon shading?

None of your youtube videos work for me, it says "This video is no longer available"

Also (from the site screens) maybe you should try and make some of your own textures and make them a bit more high res

Very strange that the youtube videos arent working for you, because they work fine for me!

I have a friend who does a lot of photoshop stuff and offered to make some textures, so I'm going to be replacing the standard.wad textures entirely.

It looks like a mix of "Cat In the Boot Movie" and "Metal Warrior" in SNES, and that's cool...
Maybe the cat has more suit? Like "Spyder", "Havoc", "Nitro", and "Prometheus"... They are all from Metal Warriors...

I've never heard of Cat in the Boot or Metal Warrior, but there will be upgrades found as the game progresses that add new abilities (like a laser-blaster, and a rocket jump) as well as add things to the suit's appearance like a blaster on the arm and a rocket engine attached to his boots.
