You mean within SED's settings?

which path settings do you mean? i did a clean new install.

Hm I just noticed that SED doesn't seem to have Path settings.
My idea was that when started from SED maybe some script gets included which has a .._startup function which disables antialiasing or sth similar.

It might matters what kind of things you've got set as start up functions indeed. There used to be a small bug in an older SED version if I recall correctly that caused different behavior for a script when running from SED.

maybe the published version is kind of more robust and tries more fallback stuff? i remember something like that was mentionned somewhere in the manual.

but wouldnt that be strange, too? especially considering that noone else has this problems?

I suspect that's mostly because most people use WED?

i've always started the engine from sed but i've never discovered such a problem. there were other weird issues depending on camera angle etc. - i think it's a matter of your pc settings. fuzzy logic .
