I Upgraded to 7.70 and now WED rotate and scale are impossible to use with the mouse, it actually rotates things like a helicopter blade constantly spinning, also the scale will immediately scale to maximum or minimum size.

- Open WED
- Add Large Cube.
- Click and drag on cube in rotate mode, it spins uncontrollably while you have the mouse button down.

I can't belive this made it to the download page with this problem, so I'm interested to see if its just my PC?

Jethro.

Are you working on a laptop with a touch panel? Sometimes the mouse control gets messed up when you accidentally touch the panel with the thumb.

Apart from that, I haven't heard of any particular mouse problems in WED yet. Check out whether this affects more programs on your PC, or only WED - f.i. if you can move or rotate objects in MED. Also, try it with another mouse, just in case there's something wrong with the mouse hardware.

UPDATE:-
My system is a Toshiba Laptop A200 P4 1Gig Ram, Win XP with external monitor, and wireless logitec keyboard/mouse.
Tried a normal USB Cable mouse, but still faulty.
New version of MED that came with A7.70 Works correctly (rotate/scale) on the Laptop.
Also The laptop is located remotely from my work space so I don't go anywhere near the touchpad.

Copied A7_70 to my desktop PC and used same Keyboard and mouse on it as my laptop and it works Correctly.

So it appears to be something with the laptop.
Heres the weird thing.
A5, A6.314, A7.50 and every other program on the Laptop work perfectly, it's only A7.70 WED that has problems.

Does the laptop use a special mouse driver, i.e. Logitech or the like, or just the Windows mouse driver?

Under control panel there are 2 drivers loaded:-
Alps Pointing device. 8/05/2004 6.0.303.5 Which I'm guessing is for the touchpad.
and
HID Compliant Mouse. 1/07/2001 5.1.2600.0 Microsoft. Which I'm guessing is the USB Plugged in mouse.
No drivers have ever been loaded for the mouse since new.

I can only guess here. Sometimes touchpad drivers interpret coordinates in some special way, f.i. for scrolling. Do you have still the problem when you disable the touchpad driver? And does the problem only happen in WED, or also in MED, the engine, or other 3D programs?

Every other program works perfectly, including the new MED that came with A7.70.
A5, A6.314, A7.50 (latest WED loaded before 7.70), you name it it works perfectly.
Except A7.70.

Hopefully another laptop user will come across this after they upgrade. Haven't needed to do anything with Touchpad driver for all other versions of WED, or any other program?
I can try disabling them I guess.
