heya, i just tried it out and it seems not to work here on my SigmaTel C-Major Audiocard.. neither your demo nor after i added it to my project.. any idea? hope to get it to work Sorry to here that Ello, Did you install the OpenAL re-distribution package found in the redist folder of the demo? If you have and it still does not work than it means that your sound hardware doesn't support EAX2 or isn't EAX2 compatable. If that's the case, Sorry there is nothing I can do about it. I'll code in an EAX2 support error check so it will tell you if you have EAX2 capabillities or not. Let you know when done.

Thats pretty strange. As far as I know if your sound-card doesn't support hardware accelerated EAX2 it is simply calculated on the CPU. You really should look if you got the newest drivers installed and everything. Just to be sure.

greetings K-Duke Huh! Don't you mean calculated via sound driver software. Even then it's only very basic but a lot of popular sound cards do support Hardware acceleration but some still don't have EAX2 capabilities. Anyways I will have a go at getting the software capability support working with OpenAL so don't give up hope yet Ello

v1.1 Now available. This will be the last version because there hasn't been much feedback in regards to if it is of benifit to anybody. There are only a few changes in this release. 1: Plugin code has been cleaned up a fair bit 2: Now returns an error "Have a look at the main.c" 3: Now initilized "DirectSound3D" directly. So hopefully it's more compatable. If I get enough response this time I may continue working on it. If somebody does wan't to help, "Please check my post Desperate help needed" in the higher languages forum. Good luck and I hope you enjoy. Here is the link again EAX2 and Demo

I sure love this plugin!! but I dont know what to request, what more is there to add? :p the koko clock sounds the same and it follows the player around the whole map, footsteps didt sound to bounce relisticaly, dont know about the cylinder though, should there be some special kind of sound in there? as I noticed none tried on realtek hd audio manager and X-fi fatality and x-fi xtreme-gamer same thing. There is also no slow sound change adaption from outside to inside, it just completely shuts off sounds from outside when you enter inside one of the house, adaption or better recognition needed cause there is no door either, if a door opens and closed the sound should be adapted to how fast the door gets closed, and when closed minimal sounds should be heard from outside if close to the door, in the middle of the house only insides or very loud outside sounds. if its open it should be louder than when closed. or is this something that user can control themselves easily?

Maybe you have Vista? AFAIK DirectSound EAX is not supported anymore in newer Windows versions like Vista. Sorry, just have to answer to this, vista does support EAX http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2006/11/28/Vista_will_support_eax_after_all/1Back in 2007 there was released a beta with eax support for vista http://apcmag.com/creative_puts_eax_back_into_vista.htmon creative support page for drivers Creative ALchemy restores 3D audio and EAX® effects for certain DirectSound®3D games in Windows Vista. With Creative ALchemy, you can: enable the DirectSound3D game audio to be processed by your Sound Blaster audio device to deliver EAX effects, 3D audio spatialization, sample rate conversion and hardware audio mixing. Without this, most DirectSound3D games will be reduced to stereo output without any EAX effects. improve 3D audio processing for host-based Sound Blaster audio devices. I've even tested newer games that include EAX and they work perfectly fine
