oh ok. the target font? im using TTF and arial... which supports those acents.

so you are saying , read each char from the file char by char, and depending on the values, i replace them with others? is that?

when i make the file_asc_read my file..

i get a numerical code, that its not even ascii.. because im returning the code 239 for example, that its not ascii, but ascii extended, but when i went to the table the chars did not matched the string output... so.. the table is HTML code ascii.. and that matched the correct error(STRING*) output.

this is the table. table

For UTF-8 you need to replace 2-, 3-, and 4-byte strings, and convert them to extended ASCII, so that they match the font you're using, such as Arial.

if there was a gs function like this..

# byte[] passwordBytes = (byte[]) someJNDImethod();
# String password = new String(passwordBytes, "UTF-8");
