You only list A7, time, nervs, concentration and ANet... is it possible with ANet to make this server list? Or do i need a SQl-Server or PHP too, because Rakscha said so?

Thanks for reading, thinking, answering wink

Instead of a php or mysql server you could run a server(a7 with anet for example) as master server. But i think you dont want your pc to be online 24/7 right wink

So one way is to use a mysql list stored on another server online or use php(the programmers of GTA SA MP used php for their serverbrowser. One of them is working for evilhosting now. We had a long talk about it. was very interesting).

But before you start: train yourself with simple multiplayer application you can test with your friends. The nasty thing is to keep it playable over lan(easy) or/and internet(not that easy). My MP code for my Game CUBE: Run for YOUR life for example works also great on inet.

Iam looking forward to your first project smile. Whenever you need help with Gstnet tell me your problems with your app and i'll see what i can do. Or ask the developer directly on his website(gstools.de).

ANet offers you a internet and lan server list template (if you own ANet Pro). But this is a very easy thing to implent because the template already does all for you. The internet server list works with a mysql and php server. The php script comes with the template and a detailed howto set up everything (all that is currently in beta and will be released soon).
But you can already start programming by using the ANet free version. The latest Beta Version:

You can use other methodes like the "master server methode" Rackscha mentioned, that would also work with ANet free.

If you have questions regarding to ANet, just contact me (PM or mail).

I hear that all the time but it's wrong. The A7 multiplayer tutorial is pretty good and understandable even for a beginner. When you're ready to write a normal game, it's no problem to write a good and fast multiplayer game.

Just my two cent. Don't let someone discourage you! Multiplayer with A7 is very easy.

Writing a MMOG of course is something different, for this you need a team and should definitely not be a beginner.

i have to disagree with you. yes, it's easy to write very basic MP game, but as you go on it gets harder and harder.

"if you're a beginner, please, dont even try to look at the multiplayer code!"

by beginner, i ment if he just started with A7. if he already created some smaller, normal games, then he's not the beginner, then he could create MP games too. but if he's total beginner who is not completely familiar with lite-c code then, dont try to look at the MP code.

i hope you understand now what i mean.

Thank you all, you helped me much! grin
I will choose between GSTNet and ANet in the next time and then I will beginn program the basics of my game and then I will make it comlete step by step.

Hmm, by the way, I downloaded the free version of ANet and the tutorial and manual. When I open the main.exe from the Tutorial I choose server/client, enter a name and choose a character, ok. but then I see only the map and the interface but no model and i can not move, is this a bug or what?

Thanks for reading, thinking, answering wink

Download this www.anet-plugin.com/downloads/Demo_1.1.2.1.zip dll and replace it in the folder of the tutorial. Then it should work.
