Ok, I just tested with noshader on and.....

It's not the shaders.

There is one thing that's a little bit different in this game. We have Joypad support. I can't prove that's it, but it's really the only constant. I'm about to test with keyboard to see if that's it. The last few times I tested with the Keyboard the game didn't crash, but we'll see.
