Iridium 1.0 Beta! The wait is over! An official Iridium Beta Version will be released Monday, June 22, 2009! thanks for all the nice comments! As you can tell I've been working really hard over the last year.
Every feature in the screen shots can be adjusted easily. I see that some like the "edge blurring" which is actually atmospheric lighting. If it is too strong for your taste, you can lower the attenuation or disable alltogether by simply calling a function. Same with diffuse, specular, emissive, ambient and every other type of light!
One purpose of the Beta test is to get a larger sample of framerates. So far: 8700GTm (laptop) 25fps 9800GTX 60fps GTX250 95fps
the scene has 1.6 million polygons, dynamic sunlight, one omni light, 86 detail lights, and runs at standard definition (1024x768).
Also, I'll make sure to add some more dynamic models - the palm trees and the cloth move with the wind

Proud to say that Ground Tactics will be using this in our project as we've supported it since it's idea stage! Interesting. Do you have any images to share? I am interested if you could solve the (too) soft smoothing around edges that produces wrong shading.
