Hi,

no shadows are thrown from a light emitting entitiy (with cast flag set) when there is no light set in wed.

You can check it out in this testlevel:

http://www.infinite-dreams.de/3dgs/shadow_issue.rar

If you start the testlevel you see the car throwing a shadow.
Remove the (wed-)light in WED and start again. Now the car isn't throwing a shadow anymore although there is a light emitting entity with cast-flag set.

I can not confirm it here, but will download your testlevel and look into this. It could be a bug.

Any new information on this issue?

Could there be a relation to this bug in 7.77.4 (the version I currently use):

I don't think so. Anyway I can't confirm such a problem with your testlevel either, no matter if I remove the light or not, or use version 7.77 or the current version.

Can you upload a testlevel in which the problem happens?

That's really strange ...

Here're two screenshots:

starting the testlevel as it is:



then removed the light in wed, build and start:



As you can see in the second picture the shadow of the car is missing.

Sure, but I need some code or level where this really happens. It did not happen in your testlevel. And your second shot shows a lightmap and does not look as if you really had removed the light in WED.

I've just reinstalled GS ... no change at all.

For the second shot I removed the light in WED:

double click on light, pressed del (light was removed), build, start

The only remaining light in the second shot is coming from the light emitting entity "dummy_light_mdl_001" and some ambient light. No other changes were done (neither code nor level).

If the light would not have been removed where's the shadow of the car as you can see it in pic 1?

I honestly don't know why the shadow only disappears when you remove the light, but not when someone else does it. But the easiest way to solve that mystery is that you upload just that very level so that I can reproduce the problem here.

I don't know what exactly you mean with "upload just that very level with which the problem happens".

On my machine the problem happens in the testlevel that is in the rar-file.
I've got the same problem in our current project, but this has about 600mb data, so I made that very small testlevel.
