I abandoned the idea of making large games, I guess you need more time and resource for that. So I scaled it down a bit and it's working. HOwever, I won't give any deadlines...I going to stick with the good old Duke Nukem "When it's done".
All the while I'll publish monthly model packs that include the stuff I did in each respective month.
