Thanks, the idea has grown on me. I'll probably test it out on a small scale, with some simple terrains to see how it goes. The LOD thing is also an added bonus. Come to think of it, it would also allow for higher-res textures on terrain, since you aren't trying to cover everything with just one. The problem with this is getting things to be "stitched up" correctly. I don't know if the terrain sewing example in the AUM would work for model based terrain.
