okelidokeli, i am a little sad, because it seems so easy to me.
however, i followed my instructions like i didnt know nothing and here you go. this time i uploaded the test level. i took the bark.bmp(i know this is not the best detail-texture) out of the standard wad for the detailmap and the brickdark texture for the geometry.

i hope for ya buddies that you can get it to work .
and dont forget to try lower scales if you want to use it for a more multitexturestyle

i always get "parameter unknown d3d_automaterial".
i have not changed a single line from the files you uploaded. i just compiled and started it.
what am i doing wrong? :|

You don't have the beta version. This isn't a public feature yet but I think it'll be in the next or the one after the next version.

This material uses fixed functions only, right?

correct me if i am wrong, but you dont have a6.2 commercial or professional? those are the only editions which support shaders.

@BoH_Havoc: you have to download the 6.22 update. it's needed for effects on level surfaces...

damn 56k, they kick me out every time.
mk1. i ment the o ther one. however its no beta feature as ventilator statet. ahh i am so slow on the way. posting one post takes same time than getting two answers.

the material MUST have the same name as the texturename in weds wad;) and yes. its a ffp, because i dont know how to do dynamic lightnig in the shader. other wise i would use a shader because i am not taking care:) and i know them a little better then ffp
